Reading for me has and always be a gamechanger. The value isn’t in 1 book, it’s in the habit of being a reader. It’s in the connections you find between books and concepts. It’s in challenging your mindset, learning from others and chasing growth!
I love the saying that “Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers” – John Maxwell.
What have I read and am I reading to close out 2024?
This year, I have worked through the following books:
Thinking In Bets – Annie Duke
Hidden Potential – Adam Grant
Your Next 5 Moves – Patrick Bet David
The Power of One More (re read this one 😊) – Ed Mylett
Take Control Of Your Life – Mel Robbins
Outlive – Peter Attia
The Celestine Prophecy – James Redfield
High Road Leadership – John Maxwell
Choose Your Enemies Wisely – Patrick Bet David
The Daily Stoic – Ryan Halliday (most days 😊)
Inked – Jeb Blount
The Little Black Book For Stunning Success – Robin Sharma
Notable mentions from this year must go to the following:
Outlive – Peter Attia – I shared this recently in an xrecruiter mastermind. His concept of Lifespan x Healthspan and how to go about this is brilliant. A must read for anyone interested in taking control of their health.
Thinking In Bets – Annie Duke – This book is about strategic decision making and the parallels between this and Poker. It was recommended to me by an Executive who is an excellent decision maker and it has helped me level up in this area.
Your Next 5 Moves – Patrick Bet David – I love the clarity in which Patrick writes. This book is a clear guide on Business Strategy and breaks it down into actions that you can take immediately. I’ve read both of Patricks books and used his goal setting framework from years ago as the foundation of the Big 6.
In The List To Read (in no particular order)
My goal will be to work through these before the end of 2025
Mastery – Robert Greene
Psycho-Cybernetics – Maxwell Maltz
The Diary Of A CEO – Steven Bartlett
Lean Marketing – Allan Dib
Virtual Selling – Mike Schultz
Reach out if you would like to discuss or know more about any of the books above.
What have you read that I should add to my list for 2025?
Feel free to check out my blog for other reading recommendations from 2023, 2022 and 2021.
