Success Is......

What is success to you? I've interviewed thousands of people over my career and inevitably at some stage the topic of success is covered in one way, shape or form. Everyone has a different view of what success is for them at work and from a personal point of view. Sometimes their view of success is compelling and really drives their success, for others its aspirational, for some they haven't even thought about success or defined it, for others its not important and they see it as self help garbage. Needless to say I believe you should have crystal clear clarity around what success is for you at work, personally and for the business you represent. I'd take it a step further and believe your identity, habits and goals are all intertwined with you view of success. Clarity of who you are and your purpose is a key to high performance. Nothing happens by accident! You are responsible for your life, choices and future. A victor builds a life they love. They take ownership of their world, actively eliminate excuses and don't play the victim. Recently I read 10x by Grant Cardone and I love his take on success. Success is your duty, obligation and responsibility. I love this mindset. Success is not an option, its your duty. What a powerful way to look at the world! It takes success from a 'want' to a 'must'.

I hope it challenges you to consider whether success is only a hope/dream or something that you are locked in to achieve. What level of action would you take towards your success if it was your obligation to your family? I believe the answer is massive action! He takes this view of success one step further by crafting a Success Pledge.

I love this! What would your success pledge look like? I challenge you to consider your view of success, is it your duty, obligation and responsibility, or is it optional? What would your success pledge look like? Have you written it down and signed it off for the year ahead? Is success a must?

Don’t limit your vision of success for yourself or the actions you will take to achieve it.

My success pledge is for my family, my team, my customers (both candidates and client) and extends to my identity, habits and goals. For me, success is an expectation. I will be successful, I will leave a mark and a legacy!
